Welcome to Trinity

History
A Different Kind Of Church
Trinity Vineyard Church Nakuru opened our doors on 8 February, 2015. OK, we actually didn’t have any doors. Our first weekly gatherings were held under rented tents in the grass behind a local school. We weren’t much to look at, but we were determined. Determined to be a different kind of church in the city of Nakuru. Determined to welcome all, love all, and serve all. Determined to be a God-centered community, rich in diversity, bringing life to the city of Nakuru. Since that time, we have endeavored to help people find friends, find God, and find life.
In October, 2015, we relocated to our current facility on PGH Road. In 2016, we opened our community hub, Agora, an office, coworking, and event space, as well as our main church home. April of 2017 marked a major milestone for Trinity as Edgar King, an original staff member of the church, was commissioned as Lead Pastor and charged with leading the church into the future. We don’t know all that God has in store for this church community and for our city, but we feel confident that the best is yet to come!
Why We Exist
We exist to be a God-centered community, rich in diversity, bringing life to the city of Nakuru.
God-Centered
Being intensely focused on God; seeking to always grow closer to him, to seek his direction, and to join him in his plan for the world.
Community
Desiring to not be simply a gathering point for social or spiritual fulfillment, but a living, breathing family of people who care for each other deeply, putting the needs of others before their own and placing the highest value on personal relationships.
Rich In Diversity
Not only welcoming people of all ethnicities and tribes, but actively encouraging dialog between people from a variety of backgrounds, life experiences, and perspectives. Diversity is about learning from and respecting each other, not trying to make everyone the same.
Bringing Life
Encouraging those in our city to live life to the fullest, to embrace who they were created to be, and to pursue with passion the purpose for which they were created.
What We Believe
We believe that faith is both an individual and corporate pursuit that involves being in relationship with God. Such a relationship is difficult to reduce to a few written words. Like trying to describe all the intricacies and beauty of a flower, words seem inadequate to describe the complexity and wonder of a relationship with God.
So, rather than a lengthy statement of faith outlining in detail every nuance of our beliefs (which almost certainly wouldn’t be the same for every person), we choose to affirm some of the most basic and ancient statements of faith, which have connected the church for centuries. Most prominently, we affirm The Apostles’ Creed, so named because it represents a summary of the beliefs of the first century church of Jesus.
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
