Often we take that unattractive story and cloth it in the majesty we hoped it would have. We need to make it palatable because we are still struggling with the humility of Jesus. Because then it demands something of us.
So we give up right there, at the point of no return, the point where we could have become who we are being called to be, the point where lives are made new.
