Doing what Jesus did

When we read the accounts of Jesus life, we can read about the way he encountered people wherever he went, and how He brought the Kingdom of Heaven to earth. We can read of Him healing the sick, casting out evil spirits, bringing good news to the poor and justice to the oppressed. When we know Jesus we are given His authority to do the things that He did. It is such an exciting invitation, and it takes practice. We won’t find we can do all of these things all at once. Just like a parent teaches a child how to do the things they do, we can practice and learn with the Holy Spirit enabling us. Even if it takes time to see results, our invitation is to obedience and practice. We can be expectant to see the Kingdom of God, coming among us. We can do what Jesus did.
